About Orion HR

Just as the ancient mariners used Orion to help navigate their vessels, Orion HR Group helps organizations align compensation programs with business strategy.

Orion HR Group is based in Minneapolis and while it specializes in compensation, it also provides a wide range of HR services to clients in the public and private sector.

The Principal and owner of Orion HR Group is Larry Morgan who holds the designations of SPHR and GPHR.  Larry has over 25 years of HR experience and has worked for companies such as Best Buy, National Car Rental, JD Edwards, Lawson Software, HB Fuller, Grant Thornton Public Accounting, CUNA Mutual Group.

Morgan also holds a M.A. in Industrial Relations from the University of Minnesota, as has provided consulting services to hundreds of clients on a wide range of Compensation and other HR issues.

He serves as community faculty at Metro State University, St. Mary's University, the International Foundation of Employee Benefits (CEBS), an instructor for the Minnesota Society of CPA's, an instructor for the national SHRM organization and adjunct faculty at the University of Minnesota Continuing Education Program. He also teaches PHR, SPHR and GPHR certification courses for SHRM on an international basis as well as the University of Minnesota and the Twin Cities Human Resource Association.

Additionally, he serves on the Board of the HR Executive Forum Board and is the former President / Board member of the Twin Cities Compensation Network.
